ChatGPT suggests how blogger responsive design should be expected to avoid redirects

I've tried to send feedback to Blogger about how their platform does not play nicely with Google's mobile client when it comes to indexing of content hosted on the platform. So far I have had no response.

Since it is 2025, and AI is the hot trendy topic I have decided to ask ChatGPT about how to deal with ther situation.

Some initial prompts resulted in responses suggesting, "Nothing to see here, everything's fine"...

Then I fed additional context in to make it clearer that Blogger is redirecting away from canonical URLs us a 302 response code and that the mobile indexing is unable to reach the canonical URLs, so the response came back proposing that applying the Blogger platform's responsive design templates should result in mobile clients no longer being redirected.

I agree that's the way that the system should work, but that is not how it is actually working - or not working.

Even when a responsive design template is in place for a site on the Blogger platform, mobile clients are still being redirected away from the canonical URLs, that prevents the content from being picked up for indexing by Google.

Some Blogger themes offer an option to specify how mobile clients should be served:   As far as I can tell, this doesn't override Blogger's redirecting behaviour, so mobile clients still get sent along to the URL with ?m=1 appended.  (NB: If you scan the QR code you might land at a preview for one of my other blogs).

Trying to determine whether blogger can avoid having redirects for mobile clients

Google indexes "mobile first" in a way that makes default / desktop view unreachable. Update  - even with applying a responsive design layout on a completely new site, Blogger insists on treating mobile clients to a redirect, which results in Google penalising the blog author by not indexing. This is an interesting situation, as it is apparent that other search engines such as Bing will now be superior to Google as they pick up on a broader range of information.

Google back to indexing, not sure how

I tried to Google my name and was pleasantly surprised to find some blog posts from one of my Blogger hosted sites. When I checked Search Console to see what Google is reporting as having indexed it only showed about half a dozen URLs. When I used Chrome to run a Lighthouse report to see how mobile is looking it still showed up as involving a redirection to <URL>?m=1 but seemed to be higher scoring than the last time I ran it (wish I'd taken screenshots). Possibilities - Blogger may have changed something, such as changing the HTTP response code involved in the redirect to the mobile URL - Google may have changed something to enable indexing rather than simply failing to reach the canonical URL.
